Has the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" correctly foretold anything?
by donny inone of the issues that really helped me open my eyes to the fallacy of the claims of the "faithful and discreet slave" class is that they have not been right on anything they said would happen in the future.
every instance of "new light" is simply a hindsight adjustment and their attempt to allign the beliefs with what actually is happening or already occurred.
when you examine all of their dates, and what was supposed to happen on them, as well as the generation of 1914 and the date of the sealing of the annointed, etc, etc, can you think of anything the f&ds has accurately foretold by means of "jehovahs" spirit.. don.

The Organization has used Matthew 24:45 as basis for identifying the "Faithful and Discreet slave." What seems to be overlooked is that the verse begins with: "Who really is ..." It is a QUESTION not a designation. It remains for each individual to determine the true identity!

First, I speak for myself. I am here in search of truth ... truth supported by evidence rather than opinion. Likely, I am angry at myself for allowing both freeness of speech as well as choice to be stifled for decades. I am probably a very lonely person in search of some form of attachment. In this shell exists a very good person who has lost all self-esteem.
While there may be many reasons for others visiting this site, I do percieve a permanent disorder that comes and goes like malaria presenting itself with various expressions. Curiosity wou not manefest itself for years ... therefore long-term visitors may have another agenda. Perhaps many of us are actually looking for closure and emotional restoration.
Justice? Not likely ... humanity typically issues organized religion carte blance and only prosecutes individuals.

What is continually lacking is hard evidence of who, what, when, and where. We need a whistle blower to come forth. Someone who is not affraid that lightening will strike them. I suggest that one revelation of corruption within the GB might well topple the Tower ... or at least free the slaves!

Some Single Sisters' Problems with Brothers
by friday77 infirst of all, i'm a newbie to this site, so i hope that there will be some response to my thread on this particular topic (which i have plenty to relate about).. i wonder why some single (and a few married) brothers in the org have shown a great deal of disrespect for single sisters?
i am bringing this issue up because not only myself but also my sisters [i have four (4) other in my immediate family] along with 3 of my cousins (who have been dedicated and baptized since adolescent age) plus my own close girlfriends have experienced being gossiped/slandered by a host of brothers who think that they are "all that" and jah's gift to women on planet earth!
as a matter fact, when one brother in particular [whose uncle is an elder, brother was a regular pioneer/temporary worker at bethel and cousin was a ministerial servant] at a nicely-populated gathering saw myself, two (2) of four sisters, one of cousins and a few of my close friends being approached as well as introduced to a number of handsome, well-dressed brothers to us via two (2) of the family members whom hosted the event.

Please allow me to approach this from another angle.
JWs men are little more than a cross section of the world we live in. If one browses the porn sites on the net (oops, did I give myself away?) it is quite easy to see the disrespect that women are assigned in general.
Maybe the problem here is expectations. Perhaps you have been told it would be different when dealing with dedicated Brothers. Could it be that you have heard it said on the platform that women are the "weaker vessel" and should be treated kindly. Of course, I don't know. The important thing to me is that a "dog is a dog" no matter how he has been bred. Sorry you have been disappointed.
